Award-winning Luis Alberto de Abreu began his career as a playwright and later began writing screenplays for film and TV. From the 80s, he stood out as an author linked to the Mambembe group with the plays It was good, honey? and Shut up is dead. In his 28 years of career, he has over 50 plays in his repertoire, especially the anthological Bella Ciao, the award-winning Borandá and Auto of passion and joy , both staged by the Fraternal Company of Art and Malas Artes; and The Book of Jo, staged by the Vertigo Theater. As a screenwriter stood out in the cinema with the films Maria (1985); Lila Rapper (1997), along with Jean Claude-Bernardet; and the award-winning Kenoma (1998) and Narrators of the Yahweh Valley (2000); in addition to Walking the Voices (2005) and “It was the Cambridge Hotel” (2017), along with Eliane Caffé. For TV, wrote the scripts for miniseries on Rede Globo in Partnership with Luiz Fernando Carvalho, among them Today is Mary’s Day (2005), The Kingdom Stone (2006) and Capitu , in addition to writing Stories of Alexander and collaborate on the soap opera Velho Chico (2016), by Benedito Ruy Barbosa. He was also a drama teacher at the Free School of Theater of Santo André for eight years and a resident playwright at the Center for Theatrical Research (CPT), being the author of plays brought by Antunes Filho, such as Rosa de Cabriúna and Xica da Silva
Calixto de Inhamuns is a drama director, producer, playwright, and author of soap operas. He was one of the founders of the Mambembe Group where he was actor in the plays Come, get me I’m still yours, Killers night and It was good, honey? . Founder of Arte Viva Group where he produced and played in Bela Ciao and Squire of the town, he directed The saint and the piggy safe and produced Crystal Circle. For TV he was one of the writers of the soap opera Mandacaru, for Manchete TV and was the scriptwriting coordinator in 2005 of dramaturgy workshops at SBT TV. He wrote and directed: Viva Malasartes for the Núcleo Pavanelli de of Street Theatre and Circus (2008/09), How it all began, Graffiti Circus (2010), The hope of the family, one of the episodes of the Project Tríptico Alfrediano, (2011), Where do the Clarice stories come from, with the Tecelagem Group, Enchanted Valley of Paraíba , with the Piraquara Group, from S. J. dos Campos (2012); The Brazilian Christmas Auto, for the Living School of Guarulhos (2014). He wrote, Karamázov, in partnership with Luis Alberto de Abreu, nominations for dramaturgy at the Aplauso and APCA Awards (2014), A Benedito’s day, to the Pavanelli Núcleo of Circus and Street Theatre (2015) and Candido, the man of the sea who died in the salt land, by the Cia. Mundo Teatral, (2015), Stolen Dreams, or, The Art of Melodrama, with the Company of the City, of São José dos Campos; Antigonas, with the Cia. Fábrica de São Paulo (2016); and will debut this year, Figures, a partnership with Luis Alberto de Abreu, for Cia. Mundu Rodá and Fausto, an hallucination inspired by Goethe’s Faust.
DIRECTOR - MARIO GALINDO
Mario Galindo has been working in animation for more than 30 years, started at the Mauricio de Sousa studios in the production of the first feature films of Monica’s Gang. Then went through the main advertising animation studios in São Paulo, among them Daniel Messias and Briquet films. From 1995 he started a career in London working on two TVC films, Wind in the Willows and Willows in Winter . In 2000 he returned to Brazil and founded Traviata Films. By Traviata he produces with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the short stop motion Pop Cluck. The film toured several festivals in Brazil and won prizes for best national children’s film at Anima Mundi in São Paulo and Rio and it was awarded as the best film by the popular jury at the 1st Film, Video and DCine Festival of Curitiba. Still by Traviata he produces two other short films, commercials and works in the publishing market especially for Editora Globo. In 2005 he direceted and produced Who has the longest nail climbs the wall, his debut in live action film and created the Animation Center of São Bernardo do Campo and during two years he produced two short films A Calabresa and The Mysterious Peacock. In 2006, back in London, and has since he created and directed the preschool webseries the A new thing for Olly. Currently he’s working on the pre-production of the second Olly series and working as animator free lancer in several animated TV series, such as Little Princess, Iconicles, Lily’s Driftwood Bay, Pip Ahoy, Pablo and the feature film Moshi Monster, the Movie.
ART CONCEPT - DARREN WALL
Darren has been working in animation for over 15 years and across this time he has worked on a number of great projects ranging from Mirror’s Edge, Samuari and Judge Dredd to Halo and more recently Dog’s Trust.
As well as developing the directing side of his career he also composites scenes and completes edits, be them live action or animation. Along with these attributes he also produces storyboards and concept designs for both the entertainment, exhibition and corporate sectors, for example this year he has completed concepts on both the F.A Cup, Wimbledon and the up and coming NFL games, later this year.
He also works with live action and has directed a number of shoots and is currently developing both a live action short and an animation film. Darren has been nominated for a Children’s BAFTA and time and again receives glowing praise from his clients.
DESIGN - THOMÁS DE ABREU
Thomás has been working professionally on children’s books illustration since 2014 and always loved to draw magic and adventurous subjects. Recently he worked as a background painter for animated shorts for internet and on a feature animation. Most of his works so far was for Centopeia Piá Collective of Art projects with small freelancers contribuitions to brazilian publishing houses such as SM and FTD.
